Job Summary The Shipping Clerk is a key operations professional responsible for managing the outbound flow of goods at our 3PL fulfillment facility. This role combines administrative and physical tasks to ensure that products are accurately prepared, packed, documented, and shipped to meet customer delivery timelines. The Shipping Clerk maintains accurate shipping records, coordinates with carriers, and communicates with warehouse staff and customers to ensure seamless fulfillment operations. Primary Responsibilities Process and prepare outbound shipments for all clients, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery Create, print, and maintain shipping documentation including bills of lading, shipping labels, pick tickets, and packing slips Record shipping orders and data into the warehouse management system (WMS) with accuracy and attention to detail Pack items into appropriate containers, seal, label, and verify all vital shipping information before dispatch Coordinate with warehouse staff and logistics team to ensure products are ready for pickup and transport Contact and communicate with shipping carriers to arrange pickups, confirm deliveries, and resolve shipping issues Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation, manifests, invoices, and orders to ensure accuracy Monitor and track shipment status, weights, charges, and any damages or discrepancies for reporting purposes Determine appropriate shipping methods, routes, and carriers based on customer requirements and cost optimization Maintain organized, clean shipping and staging areas to support efficient operations and safety Process customer inquiries regarding shipment status, delivery times, and shipping-related issues File and manage shipping documentation, maintaining accurate records for audit and reference purposes Assist with cycle counts, inventory verification, and returns processing as needed Comply with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies while working in the warehouse environment Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on shipping processes Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or related logistics environment Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry) Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously Ability to read and interpret shipping documentation, labels, manifests, and invoices Clear communication skills and ability to coordinate effectively with team members and external carriers Ability to lift and carry items regularly (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods Reliable attendance and ability to meet shipping deadlines consistently
