Normal hours Monday – Thursday 8.00am to 4:30pm
Friday – 8.00am to 3:30pm
Responsibilities:
• Cutting stone with machinery (saws/wire saws) in either quarry / factory or both.
• Store, load, unload and move materials around the premises on a fork truck or gantry, discarding of waste into the skips (with/without fork truck)
• Manual Handling unaided (lifting physical stone / consumables such as blades / timbers / skids into position or skips)
• Processing stone to a finished product (unloading and reloading pallets/crates), whilst putting tiles through a processing machine.
• Selecting and packing of finished product from a cutting table or production line onto a pallet or into a crate.
• Operating Heavy Machinery such a loader/dumper/excavator/drill rig within the quarry or factory premises.
• Operating cranes/gantry with use of chains / slings / suction pads or slab-grabber.
• Grading slabs for quality purpose where applicable.
• Cleaning / Wash-down the workplace on a regular base with both power washer or normal washdown hoses (use brushes / shovels when needed)
• Standing on level and unlevel ground whilst waiting for machinery to arrive
• Using a computer to print labels and attach these labels to slabs or blocks with the use of a silicon-gun.
• Routine scheduled maintenance such as oil and lubrication top-up, vehicle inspection, fueling your vehicle.
• Request paperwork from admin/supervisors for incoming/outgoing collections.
