Full Time Electrical Engineer
SALARY $140,000 - $150,000 + SUPERANNUATION
PRIMARY PURPOSE
In this role you will be providing consistent, high-quality, cost-effective, and timely deliverables and products for the construction of plant. Oversees, guides, and manages the work of contractors, vendors, suppliers and employees. Promotes environmental stewardship and a work culture focused on health and safety.
DUTIES
• Erection, testing and commissioning of switchyard with single bus consisting of line bays, transformer bays, bus coupler bay including the activities related to Electrical Inspector’s visit and permission.
• Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings.
• Establishing and managing resources used in the supply of electrical elements, machines, devices, and equipment.
• Developing standard operation procedures for solar installation with required quality and safety standards with multiple clients.
• Oversee and direct project site LV, MV, HV, communications and controls activities in a manner that delivers the project within safety, cost and time targets set by the Project Manager.
• Responsible for end to end asset management, starting from Contract development to Completion.
• Responsible for development and designing of Central monitoring system.
• Standardize the SOP, Checklist, PPM, Quality and Safety documents.
• Performance and Data Analysis of asset and preparing Improvement strategy and execution plan.
• Ensure safety standards of the site are adhered to by the subcontractors when work is underway and regulations relating to health, safety and the environment (HSE) are adhered to.
• Preparing specifications for purchases of equipment and materials.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure project timelines are not compromised.
• Ensure subcontractors and site staff operate in compliance with local construction and safety regulations.
• Review the work progress on daily basis and publish progress reports as per the project reporting requirements and publish the required routine reports on time.
• Track, manage and process all variations in accordance with company policy and within budgetary constraints.
• Coordinates project construction with Project Managers and Site Construction Managers to resolve critical and time-sensitive construction-related electrical issues.
• Leads or assists with investigations of electrical-related issues, including root cause analysis as needed.
• Analyzing the Nature of Project and Submission of Planning & completion schedule to Client.
• Preparation of Drawings depending upon Site Clearances and in Co-ordination with other agencies.
• Freezing up of Materials required, Material follow up, expedition and Tracking with the vendors so that to meet the Time frame Schedule of the Project.
• Installation activities and Commissioning of the Entire System.
• To ensure good quality workmanship, maintaining maximum work output with Minimum manpower and minimum cost.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Formal Education
Relevant bachelor’s degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering
Work Experience/Knowledge
13+ years of electrical engineering work experience at construction site of which 5 years in PV Solar construction / Operations & maintenance preferred but not compulsory. Hands on experience In Solar EPC/ O&M & site experience is compulsory.
Skills/Competencies
1. Engineering/ suitable qualifications combined with relevant experience operating at this level, delivering similar style projects within solar/ power /EPC environment or renewable energy
2. Experience leading multi-discipline projects
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including written and verbal)
