Mechanical Engineer (Application Engineer) Full-time
Duties:
• Assessed customer operational requirements and process conditions to develop application-specific mechanical and flow control solutions.
• Evaluated existing process systems and recommended improvements to optimise equipment performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Analysed mechanical system requirements and selected suitable valves, actuators and flow control equipment in accordance with engineering standards and performance criteria.
• Prepared technical proposals and engineering documentation to support the implementation of mechanical and process control solutions.
• Provided engineering advice to customers regarding equipment operation, system performance, maintenance requirements and technical compliance.
• Collaborated with installation teams, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure selected equipment met project and operational requirements.
• Reviewed technical specifications and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
• Assisted with troubleshooting and technical investigations involving process control equipment and mechanical systems.
• Identified opportunities for continuous improvement and contributed to the enhancement of engineering processes and operational procedures.
• Participated in quality assurance and workplace safety initiatives to ensure compliance with company policies and OHSE requirements.
Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Experience in the sizing and selection of process valves, actuators and associated flow-control equipment.
• Knowledge of valves and process flow-control systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, datasheets and other engineering documentation.
• Experience using relevant CAD/CAM and engineering software, including SolidWorks, CNC programming where applicable.
• Experience in salesforce CRM software .
• Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including equipment selection, system performance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and WHS/OHSE requirements applicable to mechanical engineering activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to customers, suppliers, installation teams and other stakeholders.
• Ability to understand customer operational and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate engineering solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, contractors, installation teams and project stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail in the preparation and review of technical proposals, specifications and engineering documentation.
