Hybrid WorkingJob Description
Partnering the Commercial Banking division (BCB & CIB), supporting strategic objectives through provision of timely financial and strategic insight to both Divisional and Group Executive
Committees
• Managing the Commercial Banking division’s capital effectively, satisfying regulatory requirements and business needs
• Maintain the appropriate balance sheet structure within the Commercial Banking division; enabling desired capital, funding and liquidity targets to be met within market risk-appetite whilst
providing the appropriate flexibility to accommodate strategic plans
• Responsibility for the strategic budgeting and planning processes, delivery of financial reporting, provision of timely MI and insight for the Commercial Banking division
• Acting as escalation and Group Finance owner of LBCM issues
• Build and lead a high performing team, delivering brilliant partnering and financial insight, establishing a clear common purpose across the team of c.190 colleagues
• Part of the Finance leadership team, contributing to resource management, investment, talent and communication decisions – helping to deliver the Finance strategy effectively
• Own Fair Value and Valuation Methodology reporting and business support in addition to Prudential Valuation across the Group including Commercial Banking, GCT, IP&I & LEIL.
Customer
• Overseeing a culture that demonstrates the Group’s values for treating customers fairly and facilitates the delivery of customer, shareholder and colleague objectives.
• Establishing, implementing and maintaining remuneration policies procedures and practices across Commercial Banking Finance that adhere to the Group’s remuneration philosophy and
are consistent with and promote principles of effective risk management.
• Ensuring the roles and responsibilities of Commercial Banking Finance colleagues, including delegation of authorities, are formalised and that appropriate performance-appraisal systems
are in place to ensure that the performance of individuals are managed effectively.
• Ensuring within Commercial Banking Finance: i) the preparation of plans concerning the recruitment, training and career development of personnel ii) Management posts are filled in
accordance with the long-term needs of the Group, including succession planning, and subject to the approval of the Chief Financial Officer.
• Appointing, motivating, managing, training, developing and appraising senior Commercial Banking Finance colleagues, ensuring they have the optimal mix of technical and management
capabilities to fulfil the business objectives and that they make most efficient and effective use of resources.
