Position Description
- The LNG Portfolio Optimiser plays a role in JERAGM, a single market interface of LNG Trading in JERA Group, ensuring the stable LNG inventory management, and supporting JERAGM in pursuit of its optimisation activities.
- Expansion of LNG optimisation activities (developing LNG optimisation protocol, adding flexible LNG contracts in the FOB-DES-TCP structure, structuring new optimisation transactions).
Key Role Responsibilities
- Secure stable LNG inventory management for JERA, our Japanese shareholder by deeply analysing the JERA’s supply demand situation through close communication with JERA's supply-demand staff in Japanese and by determining the optimisation activities complying with LNG optimisation protocol with LNG trading desk in JERAGM in a timely manner
- Develop the optimisation protocol in order to advance stable LNG inventory management and optimisation activities
- Evaluate the risks that JERAGM's optimisation activity may have adverse impact on JERA's supply and demand balance
- Support capturing optimisation opportunities and implementing transactions through close collaboration with traders
- Communicate with JERA’s LNG terminal operation staff in Japan daily to ensure the stable LNG supply and inventory management for JERA
- Identify operational constraints that hinder optimisation activities, and seek countermeasures to solve the issues in collaboration with JERA
- Coordinate delivery scheduling with sellers of JERA LNG Portfolio (including collaboration with EneXEra Limited)
- Provide support to stakeholders in JERAGM including traders, to help them better understand JERA’s LNG supply and demand operation
- Support JERA in improving its LNG operational capability and optimisation opportunities by introducing JERAGM’s optimisation and trading standards
- Closely involved in JERAGM’s overall LNG activities to support smooth implementation of optimisation transactions
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in the LNG industry including liaising with Japanese utility companies
- Relevant experience in the Japanese fuel markets
- Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N1) or similar is required to be able to communicate and build a good relationship of trust with Japanese utility companies who are customers and counterparties
- Extensive knowledge and experience of Japanese utility companies' supply & demand operations, delivery scheduling and LNG Portfolio
- Deep understanding and insight on pursuing LNG optimisation activities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
