Join Palantir as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) and help clients solve their most pressing challenges. You will work with cross-functional teams, translate objectives into a delivery plan, prototype and iterate quickly, deliver production-grade solutions, and align and communicate with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a client success mindset, structured problem-solving skills, software and data engineering fundamentals, a bias for ownership, a track record of delivery, collaboration and client-facing communication skills, and travel flexibility.

About the role

Here is what you need:

 Palantir Foundry: Proven experience building data pipelines, managing datasets, and deploying applications within Palantir Foundry. Specifics required are as follows: 

o   Practical skills required to build and maintain production-grade data pipelines, data connections, and ontologies

o   General knowledge of platform capabilities and specific applications within the Palantir Foundry suite that are useful for performing the job of data engineer

o   Data pipeline development in Palantir Foundry 

Develop transforms on structured and unstructured datasets in Palantir Foundry

Apply best practices when building data pipelines

o   Data pipeline maintenance in Palantir Foundry 

Effectively investigate and fix common issues in data pipelines

Contribute to logic changes and performance improvements to transform pipelines feeding mission critical workflows

Familiarity with recommended support structures

o   Data connection and integration in Palantir Foundry 

Familiarity with architecture and capabilities of Data Connection

Set up sources and syncs ingesting tabular data or raw files from external systems to Palantir Foundry

o   Ontology design and development in Palantir Foundry 

Provide data engineering context during ontology design and implement pipelines backing ontology objects and links based on application requirements

·       Oral and written communication: Personable communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly and credibly to executive stakeholders.

·       Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

·       Demonstrated ability to build production-grade code that leverages both structured and unstructured datasets 

·       Strong foundation in prompt engineering and applied AI techniques

·       Strong programming skills with demonstrated proficiency in Python or Java

·       Ability to travel, dependent on client and team

 

Bonus points if you have:

·       Built rapport quickly and represented teams professionally with clients

o   Write clear, concise documentation (requirements, design notes, runbooks) for technical and non-technical audiences

o   Present updates, trade offs, and recommendations to executives; tailor the message to the audience

·       Experience building solutions with large language models

·       Demonstrated proficiency in TypeScript, or JavaScript

·       Active government security clearance (Canadian Applicants)
