Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC is recruiting an experienced Senior Systems Engineer / Architect for an onsite opportunity supporting mission-critical emergency communications and federal voice modernization initiatives in Winchester, Virginia.
This senior-level position focuses on systems engineering, IP networking, E-911/NG911 integration, SIP/VoIP technologies, emergency services routing, and interoperability within federal and DoD environments.
Candidates must possess an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide systems engineering support for emergency communications integration
Conduct architecture reviews, interface analyses, and technical assessments
Support E-911 call delivery and associated IP network engineering
Analyze IP routing dependencies and interconnection performance
Troubleshoot SIP/VoIP call-path and routing issues
Support emergency location provisioning and record validation
Investigate location discrepancies affecting emergency call routing
Coordinate technical and provisioning activities with government and contractor stakeholders
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation recommendations
Support interoperability between voice systems and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) environments
Perform technical issue escalation and resolution
Use network analysis and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark
Develop technical recommendations and risk assessments
Required Qualifications
10+ years of systems engineering or network engineering experience
5+ years of IP routing and enterprise communications experience
Experience with SIP/VoIP technologies
Experience supporting E-911 or NG911 environments
Experience supporting DoD or federal networks
Strong IP networking and troubleshooting knowledge
Active U.S. Secret security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience

Army voice modernization initiatives
PSAP interconnections
Public safety communications
Federal telecommunications environments
Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification
Work Schedule & Location
This is an onsite position in Winchester, Virginia.
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
