Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC is recruiting an experienced Senior Telecommunications Engineer for an onsite opportunity supporting mission-critical federal voice modernization and emergency communications systems in Winchester, Virginia. This position requires extensive telecommunications engineering experience, advanced VoIP/SIP knowledge, E-911 or Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) integration experience, and an active U.S. Secret security clearance. The selected engineer will support the deployment and integration of telecommunications gateways, SIP interconnections, emergency call routing, and public safety communications infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Support deployment and integration of federal telecommunications gateways Engineer and troubleshoot SIP interconnections and policy routing Analyze E-911 call flows and resolve routing issues Support connectivity between voice infrastructure and Army PSAP environments Perform deployment validation and readiness assessments Track engineering issues and develop technical recommendations Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies Troubleshoot gateway deployment and performance issues Support technical coordination involving E-911 routing requirements Analyze telecommunications traffic and signaling using tools such as Wireshark Collaborate with technical teams supporting mission-critical voice environments Required Qualifications 10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience 5+ years of VoIP/SIP engineering experience Active U.S. Secret security clearance Experience with Ribbon Communications, Sonus, or Genband technologies Session Border Controller (SBC) experience Strong knowledge of SIP signaling and interconnections E-911 or PSAP integration experience Experience troubleshooting complex telecommunications environments Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience Preferred Experience Next Generation 911 (NG911) or public safety communications DISA VISP environments Army voice modernization environments PSAP interconnections Federal or DoD telecommunications infrastructure Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification Work Schedule & Location This is an onsite position in Winchester, Virginia. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.
