Philadelphia, PA 19103 OR Washington, DC 20036 Hybrid Direct Hire Ashley Hughes-Jefferson Consulting LLC is recruiting an accomplished Senior HR Transformation & AI Consultant for a direct-hire opportunity supporting complex HR transformation initiatives for mid-to-large organizations. This is a senior consulting position for a professional who combines deep HR transformation expertise, external consulting experience, program leadership, HR technology knowledge, AI enablement, and business development capabilities. The position requires a hybrid schedule of approximately 3 days per week in the office in either Philadelphia, Pennsylvania or Washington, DC. The Opportunity The selected consultant will lead complex HR transformation engagements designed to modernize HR functions through strategy, technology, automation, data, and responsible artificial intelligence. The work includes helping organizations rethink how HR operates across the employee lifecycle while translating emerging technologies into practical business and workforce outcomes. Key responsibilities include: Leading HR transformation engagements from strategy through implementation Advising mid-to-large organizations on HR modernization Designing HR operating models and transformation strategies Identifying practical AI and automation opportunities within HR Leading large-scale, multi-stream transformation programs Improving HR processes and digital employee experiences Integrating HR strategy, technology, data, automation, and AI capabilities Managing project scope, economics, timelines, quality, and deliverables Presenting recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders Developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities Creating proposals and defining scopes of work Mentoring and guiding junior consulting professionals Contributing to methodologies, thought leadership, and market-facing solutions Required Consulting Experience Candidates should have: A bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline 8+ years of external consulting experience delivering HR transformation initiatives for mid-to-large organizations Approximately 10+ years of program management experience involving large-scale, multi-stream initiatives Deep HR domain expertise Experience leading client-facing transformation engagements Strong executive stakeholder management capabilities Business development, proposal development, financial scoping, and presentation experience An advanced degree is preferred but not required. HR Transformation Expertise Candidates should possess strong knowledge in at least three of the following areas: AI enablement HR strategy HR technology Organizational effectiveness HR operating models Process redesign Digital employee experience Candidates should also understand how major HR functions operate across the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, talent management, rewards, performance management, and learning. HR Technology & AI Experience Strong candidates should bring practical experience with HR technology and emerging digital capabilities, which may include: Workday SAP SuccessFactors ServiceNow Recruiting and talent platforms Payroll technologies Learning management technologies Shared-services platforms Case and knowledge management Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Conversational AI and chatbots HR analytics Machine learning applications Practical experience with generative AI and large language models (LLMs) is particularly relevant. This may include identifying HR use cases, prompt design, technology/vendor assessment, understanding data requirements, model validation, governance considerations, and responsible deployment. Consulting & Commercial Leadership This opportunity requires more than internal HR leadership experience alone. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a history of external client consulting, including the ability to: Build and expand client relationships Identify business opportunities Develop transformation solutions Create and present proposals Scope complex engagements Communicate with executive stakeholders Manage engagement economics Lead multidisciplinary consulting teams Translate technology and AI capabilities into measurable HR and business outcomes Experience developing or closing AI-enabled HR transformation opportunities is especially valuable. Location Requirements Candidates may be based in either: Philadelphia, PA 19103 or Washington, DC 20036 This is a hybrid position requiring approximately 3 days per week in the office.
