We are looking for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly and experienced team from on a full-time, two-year fixed-term contract.
This position would suit a professional, reliable and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician who enjoys working as part of a supportive community-pharmacy team and takes pride in providing a high standard of service to patients and customers.
Applicants should:
Hold a recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification.
Have previous experience working in a community-pharmacy dispensary.
Have strong communication, organisational and customer-service skills.
Demonstrate excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
Be professional, reliable and capable of working effectively as part of a team.
Be comfortable using pharmacy dispensing and computer systems.
Have a strong commitment to patient confidentiality, safety and quality of service.
Assist the Pharmacist with the safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of prescriptions.
Process prescriptions and claims in accordance with pharmacy procedures and HSE requirements.
• Manage prescription collection, filing and other dispensary administration.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure appropriate confidentiality.
• Assist with dispensary stock control, ordering, deliveries, returns and expiry-date checking.
Prepare monitored dosage systems and other prescription items where required.
Communicate professionally with patients, prescribers, nursing homes and other healthcare professionals.
Provide excellent customer service and respond appropriately to patient and customer queries.
Refer clinical or medicines-related questions to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
Follow the pharmacy’s standard operating procedures and all relevant legal and professional requirements.
Help maintain an organised, efficient and professional dispensary.
Work closely with the Pharmacists, fellow technicians and OTC staff.
Participate in relevant training and maintain an ongoing commitment to professional development.
