Dental Hygienist Position Summary

The Dental Hygienist will provide preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services while ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal healthcare regulations. The role will support patient care by performing clinical treatments, maintaining accurate patient records, and assisting with care coordination and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene treatments, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and curettage.
  • Place dental sealants and apply fluoride treatments.
  • Take and develop diagnostic-quality dental radiographs in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Review, update, and document patient medical histories and clinical information.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records related to dental care and treatment.
  • Assist with identifying and documenting information related to dental and oral health conditions.
  • Coordinate and schedule patient care in collaboration with the dental care team.
  • Follow all applicable healthcare, infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide professional, patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality and established clinical standards.
  • Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to support comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
  • Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
  • Current Massachusetts Dental Hygienist license.
  • Current radiology certification.
  • Current CPR certification at the Healthcare Provider level.
  • Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, infection control practices, and applicable healthcare regulations.
  • Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and patient-service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a dental care team while maintaining attention to detail and patient safety.
