Department: Respiratory Care Services Employment Type: Full-Time / Rotating Shifts Position Summary: Step into a pivotal leadership role as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with Bon Secours Mercy Health. Beyond managing complex clinical caseloads, this position serves as the shift Charge Therapist, taking ownership of unit operations, staffing coverage, and team mentorship. Key Responsibilities: Act as Charge Therapist to ensure adequate staffing across patient care areas, adjusting work assignments, coordinating meal breaks, and managing call-offs. Serve as a primary preceptor to train, mentor, and evaluate new employees and respiratory therapy students. Evaluate clinical assessment data to implement, modify, and monitor appropriate cardiopulmonary treatment protocols. Coordinate with physicians to evaluate the appropriateness of prescribed therapies and recommend adjustments. Maintain precise recordkeeping and strictly enforce safety, quality, and environmental protocols. Actively participate in emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional (Required). Licensure: Current State Respiratory Care License (Required). Credentials: NBRC credentialed (Required); RRT designation preferred. Certifications: BLS/ACLS/PALS required prior to direct patient care. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
