Department: Respiratory Care Services Employment Type: Full-Time / Shift Varies Location: Richmond, VA Position Summary: Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking an experienced Respiratory Care Practitioners to join their multidisciplinary clinical team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive respiratory care through assessment, treatment planning, direct interventions, and patient evaluation. You will deliver therapies within your licensed scope, monitor patient responses to adjust care plans, and help guide onboarding team members as a preceptor. Key Responsibilities: Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, establishing and adjusting care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Administer physician-ordered therapies, set up equipment, monitor patient responses, and recommend adjustments to achieve optimal outcomes. Maintain accurate medical documentation, charting, and adherence to safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards. Educate patients and caregivers on cardiopulmonary conditions and self-care devices (MDIs, incentive spirometers, home oxygen, ventilators). Respond promptly to cardiopulmonary resuscitation events and participate as clinical circumstances require. Serve as a shift preceptor to onboard new team members and students. Qualifications & Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Care Professional (Required). Licensure: Current State Respiratory Care License (Required). Credentials: NBRC credentialed (Required); RRT designation preferred. Certifications: BLS/ACLS/PALS required prior to direct patient care; NRP preferred.
