About the Role
Our client is an established manufacturing organization with a strong focus on product quality, customer requirements, and operational standards.
They are looking for a QA Assistant to work closely with the QA Manager in maintaining and improving the site's Quality Management System. This is a good opportunity for a quality professional who wants to broaden their exposure beyond inspection and develop towards a QA leadership / QA management career path.
The role will also provide opportunities to handle customer quality issues, complaints, audits, CAPA, quality systems, and cross-functional improvement projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide support to the QA Manager and take on key QA responsibilities when the manager is away on business travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the QA Manager in implementing and maintaining the site's Quality Management System (QMS) and quality objectives.
- Act as a key point of contact for quality system matters and provide support to different departments on quality-related issues.
- Monitor production quality activities to ensure products meet internal specifications and customer requirements.
- Handle and investigate customer complaints, including reviewing quality data, identifying deviations, conducting root cause analysis, and coordinating corrective actions.
- Monitor quality trends and work with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and other departments to address recurring quality issues.
- Support risk assessments and quality activities for new product introduction and process improvements.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions and follow up on their effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and process control.
- Assist with maintaining site certifications and ensuring compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a elated discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015.
- Strong understanding of RCA, CAPA, NCR, MOC, audits, and quality improvement tools.
- Experience handling customer complaints or customer quality issues is highly preferred.
- Candidates from Food Manufacturing, Food Processing, or F&B Manufacturing will have an advantage.
- Candidates from other manufacturing industries with strong QA technical knowledge will also be considered.
- Experience with electronic document management or quality documentation digitalisation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 will be an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work across Production, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain teams.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
