We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the post-implementation stabilization and troubleshooting of integrations between Workday and external benefits providers. In this role, you will act as a key liaison across business stakeholders, Workday functional and technical teams, integration developers, and third-party benefit providers.
The primary objective is to trace data and transaction issues across multiple integrations to determine root causes identifying whether discrepancies stem from source data, Workday configuration, benefit/retirement plan rules, integration mappings, timing/processing schedules, or expected system behavior.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations and data exchanges between Workday and external benefits/retirement providers.
• Trace end-to-end employee lifecycle, payroll, and benefits transactions (e.g., new hires, transfers, job/compensation changes, terminations) impacting eligibility, enrollments, deductions, and reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies across inbound/outbound files, XML/JSON payloads, flat files, transaction logs, and error reports to pinpoint issue origin.
• Partner with benefits and retirement subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate complex business rules and plan requirements into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain clear end-to-end data flow diagrams illustrating transaction lifecycles across system boundaries.
• Help distinguish genuine defects from intended configuration behavior or misunderstood business logic.
• Validate functional fixes and confirm corrected transactions yield expected results across both Workday and external vendor systems.
• Provide clear root-cause analysis documentation, status reporting, and actionable recommendations for system or process enhancements.
Required Qualifications
• Proven track record as a Senior Business Analyst supporting HCM ERP implementations, post-go-live stabilization, or complex enterprise system integrations.
• Strong analytical and root-cause troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow data across distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience analyzing data mappings, transformation rules, transaction logs, and interface error files.
• Demonstrated ability to translate intricate business processes into structured functional/technical requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of bridging technical teams and non-technical business partners.
• Ability to manage multiple issue tracks independently, spot recurring patterns, and drive issues to complete resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep functional and integration knowledge of Workday HCM, Benefits, and Payroll.
• Prior experience supporting integrations with third-party insurance carriers, pension administrators, retirement plan systems, or payroll vendors.
• Familiarity with retirement/pension plan administration, including eligibility rules, vesting, and contribution calculations.
• Working knowledge of integration technologies and formats (e.g., APIs, web services, XML, JSON, delimited flat files, middleware).
Required / Desired Skills
• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst supporting HCM ERP implementations, production stabilization, or complex system integrations. Required - 3 Years
