Role Scope and Accountabilities
- Provide industrial-engineering support across STS, ST1 and ST2, with priorities agreed through Operations governance.
- Act as an individual technical specialist and cross-functional project contributor; no direct reports are assumed.
- Own or coordinate manufacturing-process definition, equipment/tooling requirements, industrialisation readiness and technical improvement activity within assigned projects.
- Support a specialised heat-exchanger and thermal-management manufacturing environment that may include metal fabrication, brazing/welding, CNC, assembly, testing and related material flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess product manufacturability and provide early manufacturing input to R&D and product-development teams.
- Define, develop and improve manufacturing processes, process flows, layouts, workstations and material-handling concepts.
- Specify requirements for production machinery, equipment, tooling, fixtures and jigs; coordinate technical evaluation, design review, procurement, installation and acceptance as assigned.
- Lead or support industrialisation and new-product introduction, ensuring process, equipment, tooling, documentation, capacity, quality and operator readiness.
- Develop and maintain process specifications, work instructions, standard work, control inputs and other manufacturing documentation.
- Perform capacity, cycle-time, bottleneck, process-capability and loss analysis to identify constraints and improvement priorities.
- Support PFMEA, risk assessment, control-plan development and robust corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Partner with Production and Quality to resolve recurring process problems and improve yield, quality, ergonomics, safety and productivity.
- Work with Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, maintainability, spare-parts considerations and effective handover.
- Support make/buy, investment and technical business-case evaluations with clear assumptions, benefits, risks and implementation requirements.
- Coordinate trials, validation and ramp-up of new or modified processes and ensure lessons learned are captured and standardised.
- Collaborate with the Lean Specialist to improve flow, layout, workplace organisation and overall equipment effectiveness across plants.
Decision-Making and Influence
- Recommend manufacturing concepts, process standards, tooling and equipment solutions within assigned scope.
- Define technical acceptance criteria and escalate readiness, capability, safety or quality risks before production release.
- Influence product design, investment priorities and operational changes through data-based manufacturability and capacity analysis.
- Coordinate cross-functional technical actions while formal budget and final investment approval remain with delegated business leaders.
Key Relationships
- R&D, Product Engineering and Process Engineering.
- Production Managers, Shift Leaders and shop-floor teams across all three plants.
- Quality, Maintenance, Lean, EHS and Supply Chain / Procurement.
- Equipment, tooling and engineering suppliers where assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline; equivalent technical education with strong relevant experience may be considered.
- Relevant industrial-engineering, manufacturing-engineering or process-engineering experience in an industrial production environment.
- Practical experience with industrialisation, equipment/tooling specification, process development, layouts and manufacturing documentation.
- Experience working cross-functionally with R&D and Operations from product concept through production ramp-up.
- Experience in heat exchangers, HVAC/refrigeration, metal fabrication, brazing/welding, CNC or engineered mechanical assembly is advantageous.
- Project coordination experience and working English are preferred.
