NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people.

Our TimeSync team develops technologies that improve synchronization accuracy, resiliency, and observability across advanced compute and networking systems. We work across multiple layers of the stack, from algorithms and validation flows to software tooling and system integration, helping enable detailed timing capabilities across next-generation platforms. This student role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys systems thinking, hands-on engineering, and solving real problems at the intersection of software, hardware, and infrastructure.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and evaluate timing-related algorithms and software tools for synchronization, timestamp handling, and system validation.

  • Build Python and C/C++ utilities that automate analysis, test flows, data collection, and debugging of timing behavior.

  • Investigate timing issues across system components, helping improve accuracy, robustness, and visibility across the stack.

  • Run proof-of-concept experiments, analyze results, and present findings that guide engineering decisions.

  • Collaborate with engineers working on hardware, firmware, software, and system architecture to bring timing features from concept to validation.

What we need to see:

  • Student for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and at least one compiled language such as C or C++.

  • Familiarity with operating systems, networking fundamentals, or embedded and systems-level software.

  • Experience from coursework, labs, or personal projects in debugging, scripting, automation, or performance analysis.

  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently on technical tasks, and communicate findings clearly.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Interested in distributed systems and networking.

  • Experience with Linux environments, lab tools, test automation, or data analysis workflows.

  • Background in signal processing, control, system validation, or performance characterization.

  • Hands-on project work involving low-level software, hardware interfaces, or cross-stack debugging.

  • Curiosity for architecting practical solutions and turning ideas into working proof-of-concept results.
